French Language in Canadian and Global Societies

The goal of this weebly is to connect FSL educators to meaningful resources. Throughout the FSL curriculum (2013), expectations that focus on the development of intercultural understanding are included in each of the interconnected strands (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing). Please use the tabs above to navigate resources for each Grade Level. These resources support the development of intercultural awareness and understanding in FSL students (Core French, Extended and Immersion). There is also a section to support the inquiry question: Why do I learn French? with various resources that encourage bilingualism and the importance of knowing how to speak more than one language. These resources could be used with Grades 1 through 12 and revisited often. To meet the needs of the 21st century learner and teacher is the section Connect to Culture through Tech. Here you will find various Web 2.0 Tools and Apps that support intercultural awareness at all grade levels.

This weebly is always evolving and any feedback by way of the Contact page is appreciated. It is advised that you read the weebly's disclaimer, the current FSL curriculum document and the framework for FSL in Ontario schools before navigating the resources.
